Good Morning. Lon Childress opened the meeting with 21 present. Harold Price gave an opener.

Rachel Childress gave the birthday and anniversary wishes. 5 birthdays wishes to Bob Burke, JoAnne Schultz, Judy Fraser, Rod Potter, and Ken Gillie. 2 anniversary wishes to Dick and Pat Thelen and Phil and Carolyn Manning.

Sunshine report. Jim Munds to have cataract surgery this week. Ralph Centers is still having back surgery the end of this month. Betty Lawson is in remission and doing good. Please keep all of the following in your thoughts and prayers as each one has something going on to get them down. Max Fahl, Claude Belton, Ralph Ousley, Harold Price, Bob Burke, Gerald Steele, Betty Pheiffer, Joe Cole and Lee Baldwin, Jerry Epson and any one else in the park feeling under the weather. We did notice that it is mostly the men on this list having troubles. It was stated that the women better stay healthy or are they the cause of the problems in the first place Hopefully all the northern men are staying healthy.

Managers Report: Lon thanked Jim Munds and Ike West for trimming the palms in front of the club house. It made a world of difference in the looks of the grounds.

We received a thank you card for the Sebring Safe House for the donations.

This week will be a luncheon out on Thursday August 15 at 12:30 at the Main Street America in Lake Placid.

Bingo and games this week as usual.

Can you believe it Labor Day is only 3 weeks away! We voted on what we wanted to do for this day and we all decided to have a pre pay $5 chicken dinner with salads and desserts. Sign up sheet will be posted. Bring your own place setting and drink.

No morning coffee on Labor Day. Meeting will be held after the dinner.

Lon Childress opened the meeting. Harold Price read an opener that had been sent to him from Bob Helmstadter. The count down was down this morning with only 19 present. Must have been because it was raining again.

Rachel Childress announced the birthdays kids for the week; Bob Brown, Lynette Pickup, Punk Kockensparger, Ralph Ousley, Hattie Pierce, Nancy Mellinger and Wayne Voight.

Anniversary wishes go to Don and Mary Little, Ed & Annette Layher and Don and Carol Phelps.

Sunshine report: Linda read cards from Chuck and Carol Danzer, Lynne Brewer and an email from John and Brenda Tromp. Claude Belton is out walking and Lee Baldwin is doing better. Patti Gillie was at coffee and feeling much better. Gerald Steele will be having tests and a heart-Cath sometime this week. Keep everyone in your prayers. Bob Hazelett is doing much better as Kat and him were at coffee.

Manager report was given by Lon. The pool chairs have been exchanged. He cleaned the filters in the club house and have stored them in the laundry room and purchased new ones.

Fish Fry is tomorrow at 5:00pm. Bert and Ralph have brought a lot of fish for us so come hungry. Please bring your own table setting and drink as well as a covered dish.

Dinner out this week will be Thursday at Bo David’s at 5:00 pm, Lon will call in the reservations.

Bingo tonight and games as usual. The corn hole has really taken off. People play after bingo, as well as Tues and Friday nights and a lot of times in between.

Don’t forget that this winter we will be having portraits done for our new 2020 directory. More information as it gets closer. The way time is flying it is right around the corner.

The rain keeps coming and the grass keeps growing faster than mowers can keep up.

7/29/19

Lon Childress opened the meeting with Harold Price giving a humorous joke. 25 were in attendance.

Rachel Childress gave the birthday wishes to Dough Myers, Joyce Chapman, 
Rachel Childress, Ruth Helmstadter, Vern Hollingsworth and Jim Munds. Anniversary wishes to Frank and Eileen Cary and Mike and Edythe MacDonald.

Sunshine report; Claude Belton is home and doing home rehab. Received word that Phil Manning is recouping nicely from knee surgery. Chuck Danzer had his first knee surgery this week and will have the other one done in a couple of weeks. Ralph Ousley is back home from a stay in the hospital this last week. A thank you card was read from Lee Baldwin, she is slowly on the mend.

Lynette and John Pickup left Friday for up north. Pam and Doug Myers also left Saturday for home.

Dinner out this week will be Thursday at the Golden Corral be there before 3:30 pm.

Fish Fry will be August 6 at 5:00 pm at clubhouse. Ralph and Bert Centers will provide the fish and hush puppies. A sign up sheet will be on the
board.

Visitor today was Gerald and Miriam Steele’s daughter Rachel from Fort 
Wayne, IN.

A big thank you to Sylvia and Jerry Epson for the scrambled eggs and sausage this morning.

7/22/19

There were 27 present.

Lynette Pickup gave us the birthday reminders for this week; Stan Hazen,
Sandy Sherry and Elfriede Belton. Anniversaries this week are Don and
JoAnne Madden and Punk and Cynde Kochensparger.

Sunshine Report: Contact with Connie Bruner she said Gary is doing ok and hope to be down in September. Kat Hazelett says Bob is ok but in a lot of pain. He is very stiff and has a lot of sore muscles. Dolores Kelly said Rod is doing ok they are waiting for doctors to decide what to do next. Lee Baldwin had surgery to insert a defibrillator as well as a pacemaker. Claude Belton is out of ICU and has been up standing no walking yet and being watched very closely. He will be in the hospital for 5-7 days. Patty and Ken Gillie are down with acute bronchitis. Carol Ruccio is also sick. Ralph Centers is doing well from his surgery on his lower eye lids. Chuck Danzer will have knee surgery this week. Ralph Ousley started treatments and is doing well. Lynne Brewer is doing very good since her knee surgery. It was brought to our attention that Phil Manning had another knee surgery. Brenda Hollingsworth will be having carotid artery surgery in Winter Haven not sure of the date yet. Received word that Lisa Bain lost her mother this last week. Lisa’s mother is also Jenny Ousley’s sister-in-law. Our condolences to the families. Please keep every one in your thoughts and prayers.

Linda Price thanked everyone that helped with the clean up after the chicken noodle dinner last Wednesday. We had a really good turn out. Can’t wait to see what the next dinner will be.

Welcome back Doug and Pam Myers even if you are only here for a week. Lynette and John Pickup will be leaving for up north this Friday.

Dinner out this week will be Thursday July 25 at 5:00 pm at the Watering Hole.

Managers report given by Lon. The bathrooms were gutted and Lon and Dave worked on getting the sheet rock up and painted. The new fixtures will be installed this week. The floors in the bathrooms will be painted after the doors have been redone for handicap access. The pool leak has been fixed. The trees were all trimmed this last week and Hammock Estates looks beautiful.

Good Morning Hammock Estates.  Lon Childress opened the meeting, Harold Price gave the opener and the count down was 27, up 5 from last week.

Lynette Pickup gave the birthday wish to Arline Dennis, Terry Bain, Jack Fitzgerald, Cynthia Phillips Feltenberger and Iva Stewart. Anniversary wishes to Grant and Carol Parker, Lon & Rachel Childress and Ike and Sondra West.

Sunshine Report: Card was signed for Bob Hazelett who was hit on Hwy 27 while riding his bicycle, he is bruised and sore but doing ok.  Max Fahl had good luck with both of this cataract surgeries.  July Fahl has completed her treatments. Yvonne Moranis back home from the Palms. Claude Belton is seeing a doctor for heart related problems. Ralph Ousley will start new treatments next week. Ralph Centers is having back surgery and eye laser treatments this week.  No update on Lee Baldwin. Please keep all of our park residents in your thoughts and prayers.  Harold read a thank you from Wendy Roth with the food bank.  Our park has been so good this summer in continuing to supply food and things for the missions.

Chicken Noodle dinner is Wednesday at 4:00 pm.  Remember to bring table service.

Dinner out this week will be Friday night at Victoria’s be there by 4:30 pm.

Bingo tonight and games Tues and Friday.

Lon gave the park update:  Tree cutting is to start this Wednesday.  A contractor will be here on Thursday to start the reinforcement of walls and then Thursday Lon and Dave will put up the sheet rock.  The contractor will then be back to install the new fixtures.  All of the updates will be up to code for handicap. We will have some down time for use of the bathrooms.  Dave is working on getting a contractor to spray the weeds in the creek and have the weeds removed. They have really taken over the creek. Linda asked why the inside of the clubhouse had not been sprayed by Eagle?  We have ants and bugs.  We are cooking in the clubhouse so we need to have a clean environment. Lon to check with Dave.

Possible Flu shot clinic was brought up for those interested in having it done at clubhouse instead of their doctors office.  There would be no charge. Need at least 20 people.

Donuts provided by Harold and Linda Price. Bud Pheiffer gave the closer. Linda has added a few new pictures so be sure to check them out.

PS. I just received word on Claude Belton, if his test comes back positive he will be having open heart surgery tomorrow. He will be at the Bradenton Hospital. Also word was received that Lee Baldwin is at Port Charlotte and will be having a defibrillator put in.  Her mitral valve is working good but needs the defibrillator to push the blood through. Again we will keep these people in our thoughts and prays.

7/8/19

Lon Childress opened our meeting asking if any one had a morning opener.
Harold Price gave a hillbilly joke that had everyone laughing. The count down was 22 this morning.

Lynette Pickup gave the birthday names as; Gerry McLennan, Ann Miller Joan McGarigle and Pat Pierson. There were no anniversaries this week.

Sunshine report: Lynette Pickup doing well from her eye surgery, Max Fahl doing ok from his cataract surgery with another one next week. Johnnie Baldwin reported that Lee had a heart cath last Monday and will be having further diagnostic procedures. Lon read an email from Bill Gardner regarding his daughter-in-law Cheryl’s condition. Linda read a thank you card from Ralph and Jenny. Please keep all of our friends and family in your thoughts and prayers.

Our 4th of July celebration was wonderful. A big thank you to Bud and Betty and Jim and Freda for all the work they did putting this BBQ together. There were 32 residents and 5 guests.

Chicken and noodle dinner will be July 17 at 4:00pm. Sign up sheet is on the board. Bring your own table service.

Dinner out this week will be Wed July 10 at 5:00pm at Dock 633, Lon will call and schedule reservations.

Ed Layer is having a major electric problem as his electric bill has more than doubled. Please watch your bills and compare them to last year. Please let Dave Zeller know if you have problems.

The pool needs a new life ring and rope. There is also a leak that has been noticed and the manager is aware and parts have been ordered.

Sunshine Report: Card was sent around for Lynette Pickup, she had eye surgery on Friday. Alan Pratt was back in ER this last week. Max Fahl will have cataract surgery this week. Receive thank you card from Connie and Gary Bruner. Please keep all of our residents in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to Carol Danzer for pulling weeds on Louis street. She will be leaving this week, but Chuck is staying here for awhile doing some more remodeling.

23 people enjoyed dinner out at Tabby’s in Lake Placid, the food was good and with a group this large they did struggle a little, but worth another trip.

Thursday July 4th will be our potluck, please have side dishes at clubhouse by 3:30 PM; dinner is at 4:00 PM. There will be no group dinner out this week. July 17th at 4:00 PM we will be having a Chicken and Noodle dinner, a sign up sheet will be posted.

Bingo and games will continue this week.

Managers Report. The manager will not be attending the Monday morning coffee hour, he has elected to do a Managers Report on the web site. It will be listed under the Communications heading. For those without web access you can call the manager for a report.

June 24, 2019

Lon Childress opened our Monday morning coffee hour. Harold Price had a great opener.

Our count was 27.

Lots of June birthday kids; Jim Morgan, Linda Price, Carol Phelps and Sylvia Flanagan.

Anniversary wishes go to; George and Sandy Sherry, Joe and Sylvia Flanagan and Ron and Roberta DeGraaff.

Chuck and Carol Danzer have returned for a couple of weeks. Carol reported that Chuck will have knee replacement surgery on July 23 up north and if that one goes ok he will have the other knee done too.

Linda Price reported that word has been received that Jim Forrest has cancer. Alan Pratt has been down with a UTI. Cards were signed and mailed to each today. Yvonne Moran is in the Palms and should be back home in a week. Lynette Pickup will have eye surgery for a torn retina this week. Betty Lawson is still doing treatments up north. Lynne Brewer called and she came home from rehab, she is using a walker and is improving every day from her knee surgery on June 4th. Annette Layer lost her brother to cancer last week. Ralph Ousley is receiving treatments. Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers.

Harold reported that we received a thank you card from the Sebring Safehouse for the items given.

Wendy Roth sent a thank you letter from the food bank for the 276 pounds of food given in a month.

No Managers report.

One of the stools in the lady’s bathroom sprung a leak over the week-end. The hose from the shut off valve came loose from the stool. The water has been shut off but there is some water damage to the wall into the laundry room. Dave was notified of the problem.

Dinner out this week will be Wednesday June 26 4;30 at Tabby’s bar and Grill in Lake Placid. This is newly opened so off we will go and try them out. Susan Kimmel will make the reservation for 20.

Lon Childress opened our meeting, John Pickup gave us a quick opener and
the count was 29.

Our piano gal Miriam led us in song for birthday kids Tim Ponke, Gail Hubbard and Bill Little.

Those celebrating their anniversaries were Linda and Harold Price, Bill and Kathy Gardner and Terry and Lisa Bain.

Linda Price gave the sunshine report. 3 cards were sent around the table for signatures. One to Ralph Ousley who is in the hospital, one to Yvonne Moran who in in rehab in Wauchula, and one to Gary Bruner who is not feeling the best. Gene Morgan was in a mowing machine accident and has
broken both legs anyone wishing to send him a card and need his address contact me. Judy Fahl will start her therapy this week. Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers.

Mary and Claude Funk have been back in the park for a few days and will be headed back up north today.

Sylvia Epson has a new combination lock for the pool. It has a nice long shaft and should work really good.

June 10, 2019

Opener this morning was given by John Pickup. The count was 23, down from last week.

Sylvia Epson filled in for Lon Childress this morning as Lon and Rachel headed up north for a short visit.

Lynnette Pickup gave the birthday list: Herb Moscowitz, Sandy Dotseth, Don Little and Larry Hegarty. The anniversaries were: Alan & Marlene Burns and John & Brenda Tromp.

Our piano gal was not feeling good this morning so we all sang in Acappella, not bad for a small group.

Linda Price gave the sunshine report. A card was sent around for Lynne Brewer who had knee surgery last Tues. She will be in rehab for about 2 weeks. Ralph Ousley is not feeling very good so keep him in your prayers. If you know of someone that needs a visit or a card please let me know.

John Pickup introduced our newest residents Barbara and Bob Burke. They purchased the Bill Hardin (Janet Felt) house on Louis. A big welcome to the Burke’s.

Dinner out will be at the Caddy Shack on Wednesday June 12, at 4:30. Linda will call in the reservations. If you weren’t included in the count on Monday give her a call if you want to go.

Linda Price reported on the Hurricane preparedness that was at the mall over the weekend. She has forms if any one is interested.

Pool lock is broke in need of new one. Dave will purchase a new lock this week.

Please remember to lock doors on the club house.

Manager Report: Dave wants to form a committee to look after the trees and bushes on Louis street. If no one offers to help he will have to hire it done. They need to have fertilizer and be weeded.
